		Ludwig Baumgartner Acylic/Oil Paint	Contact Artist
		Ludwig Anton Baumgartner was born in Satu Mare, Romania. At the age of five, he and his family immigrated to the United States. From an early age, Ludwig showed an aptitude for art . Barely able to speak his new language, he was placed in the Gifted and Talented Program for Visual Arts and took part in a number of student art shows. His major influence during these formative years came from the art of comic books and cartoons. These elements remain a strong presence in his work today.

		I approach paintings with open possibilities; each stroke creates new directions and questions. After working for a time, there are moments when consciously I lose track of what I am doing. Compositions arrive and form on their own. The physical act of paintings, the urban landscape and the history of painting compels me to search for a language of my own. I continue to create art without reservations about making changes, destroying and starting over. The paintings seem to have a life of their own, and I try to let them filter through me.

		Born in Germany, I wandered the world (Hamburg, London, Singapore, Montreal) and finally settled in Canada. My work expresses my love for science - meteorology, microbiology and physics, with an emphasis on astronomy. Astronomy is my starting point for every visual journey: observing star-birth and star-death, exploring the possibility of life on the moons of the solar system, finding echoes in microscopic and macroscopic forms... the galaxy has become my back-yard. I work every day in my open studio in downtown Montreal, so drop by if you're in the area.

		James Graham is a lively observer of the most ordinary objects-a ceramic cup, leather jacket, a bottle of gin. His dynamic brushstroke and heightened perception of shape and spatial relationship articulate, animate, the invisible effects that border our lives. Through the medium of oil paint, he identifies innate splendor in the mundane and transforms the everyday stuff around us into extraordinary objects of desire.

		Jakub Iwaniczko is a student at the Ruhr-University Bochum (Germany), preparing for his Masters in Economics. He is moreover interested in Car Design and developed certain skills in this field.

		Peter Khost works primarily in oils and pen and ink. He is available for a wide variety of commissions, but no longer accepts requests for monochromatic murals on the walls, ceilings, and exteriors of houses.

		Howard is a throwback among digital artists, using complex 3D rendering software but restricting himself to only the most primitive objects and techniques. He labours to induce this photorealistic software to generate more abstract expressionist flavoured works instead.

		I was born and raised in Atlantic City. My drawings focus on fictional characters and their emotional and mental states. Body language and facial expressions are the primary source of drama. These images explore human psychology and encourage viewers to question their interpretations of gesture and appearance in interpersonal interactions. I live and work in Manhattan.

		A Bay Area artist, Gage Opdenbrouw was born and raised in San Jose, California, and has lived in San Francisco for 10 years. He is a painter who works on the edge between representation and abstraction. His aim is to distill his images to a point where there is a powerful emotional resonance, while maintaining a deep sense of mystery.

		Michael Rippens began his artistic career painting public murals in Southern California before moving to New York City in 1997. He received a BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and has since exhibited his spray enamel on Plexiglas paintings and cut-plastic murals throughout NYC and the surrounding areas. Michael currently lives and works in Los Angeles and periodically collaborates with the NYC-based, multimedia, installation-art team, D.e.M.O. (www.demoarts.com). 		I am a painter, working primarily in oil on canvas. A major theme of my work is capturing the dream-like essence of extreme or paradoxical emotions. I also experiment with capturing the flash of emptiness I perceive while driving through an American landscape or viewing a film. The isolating experience of these emotions, as an embodied spirit sentenced to suffer and rejoice in solitude is what I explore. I record an image and superimpose my emotional experience onto it.

		Three Wise Goats is a collaborative painting team comprised of Frank Gaughan (Frizz), Peter Khost, and Alex Khost (with the occasional collaboration by a larger group of friends). Their work is created through several methods of collaboration, including several Surrealist parlour games, games of chance, passing canvases around in a circle, simply painting on the same easel at the same time, or leaving directions on a wall for one another to follow when not in the studio together at the same time.

	I was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 9, 1936. I attended Brooklyn Preparatory, a Jesuit high school, from 1950 until 1954. After graduating, I joined the Marine Corps and travelled to Korea, Japan, Okinawa, and Quantico, Virginia. After I was honorably discharged, I attended Columbia University as an undergraduate from 1957 until 1961. After that, I experimented in many jobs ranging from a textile buyer to a salesman to a bartender. My first play was produced in New York City in 1963.

	Alexander Khost is really hungry because he hasn't eaten breakfast. He seems to have a strange obsession with coding web pages that doesn't allow him to focus on anything else at times. That is, until his hands cramp up, he gives up, and then he goes and has another cup of coffee. Of course, this has nothing to do with his writing.

	strannikov is the nom de guerre of a man you have likely never met or seen, although if you lived in Chicago in the early 1990s, you might have seen him traversing the Loop Mondays through Fridays, and on Saturdays when single-malt scotches were served. Earlier, he had developed a tragic unrequited passion for Isabella Brant, the first wife of the artist Peter Paul Rubens, but that rascal Rubens had somehow charmed her and diverted her attention. He then embarked on a career as a lexicographer and automatic writer, from which he has never recovered. His lexical incontinence is a nuisance easily overlooked and justly maligned. He is headstrong and stubborn, and while he rarely claims to know everything, he frequently claims to know everything else. He is inordinately handsome and would only drive women into zeniths of ecstasy were he to permit his photograph to circulate; therefore, in order to promote public order and marital fidelity, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera . . . his ravishing good looks, if we may interject, are in no way marred by the black wire spectacles he now sports. He is so good looking, as a matter of fact, that in a moment of unseemly humility he even induced baldness to compensate for his versatile good looks; sadly, his plan backfired spectacularly, and women now coo and swoon over his handsome bald pate. He is thus obliged to wear a hat 24/365 (366, leap years), except when shampooing. He is one immoderately handsome lexicographer and automatic writer. Fame does not precede, accompany, or follow him, but his work will surely endure!
